I was so saddened last night to learn that Pete Comvery had passed away. I considered him both a colleague and a friend. My sincere sympathy to his wife & family.

Pete was my instructor in the WCDOC academy back in 1981. He was a fine instructor and an excellent captain. I will continue to pray for the repose of his soul. My heart goes out to his entire family and I pray that god will comfort them during their time of great sorrow and loss.

Peter was a good man and he will be missed. He was the first person we met when my wife and I moved to Mahopac on Owen Drive. It was always a side show when Peter was left watching the tribe when Luanne went to class or out shopping. God Bless him and his family!

My condolences to the Convery family. I worked with Peter's wife Luann for many years and through the birth's of all of their children. I was saddened to hear of his death at such a young age. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

I was so terribly sorry to learn of the passing of my dear childhood friend Peter. Not only did we grow up together but we attended the same college, Iona in New Rochelle. And happily it was through him that I met my wife Anne. He was best man at my wedding and godfather to my middle daughter, Kate.

He was fortunate to marry a wonderful woman, Luanne and was blessed with a large family and a inspiring career. I only regret that we lost touch as I crisscrossed the country with my family.

I know you are in heaven, Peter smiling down at all of us. Here's to you.

I was shocked to hear of uncle Peter's passing. I really have no words to express how sorry I am. We all know how beautiful of a person he was, inside and out. And even though his soul has passed on to heaven, he will always be with you. Your hearts will keep him alive through incredible memories shared by everyone. Rest In Peace uncle Peter, love you.

It is with great sadness that I heard of Peter's passing. My sincere condolences to Luanne and his family. Peter was a wonderful husband and father, always putting his family first, as was evidenced when I first met him many years ago. He handled his duties as Under Sheriff very seriously, making a point of treating everyone with respect, and encouraging all that had slipped through the cracks to rehabilitate and make the best of their lives. He was a fellow Rotarian who respected the Rotary motto of "Service Above Self" in many ways throughout the community. Though he passed, all too soon, his contributions to the Putnam Community will be remembered.

Peter was a great man and friend to all who knew him. His colleagues in law enforcement held im in high regard as a respected professional and true friend, He had the unique ability to make anyone he met feel as if they knew him forever.
Pete was a cops cop and devoted family man who cherished his family and unselfishly shared his time and efforts with the community and people he loved..
We lost a truly great man this week..

When I first joined MVFD Peter was one of the first members who welcome me into the department. He was always a true gentleman, always had a kind word, and a smile on his face. He would always stop and ask how things were going and how your family was. I will cherish the memories of him from many of the departments emergency incidents, along with the parades, the fair, and many Friday nights upstairs in the old firehouse. It was with great sadness that I read of the passing of Undersheriff Convery - I worked for the U.S. at the Sheriff's Department from the start of his appointment until I moved to Florida In September of 2004 - I initially met him at a Mahopac Firehouse event during the first election campaign - He was most gracious as he introduced himself and his children - During my time with the Sheriff's Dept he treated me with respect and ALWAYS spoke with so much pride about his wonderful wife and great children - Please accept my sincerest condolences for your loss

Just a few weeks ago when we saw you guys at Putnam gala he went down the list and told me about each of the kids and how well they were all doing. Luanne, I don't know if you remember me and Patrick Sheehan. We used to spend many summers together on Craig and LouAnn's deck down the street from you. I am so sorry to hear about Pete's passing. He was such a great guy. Always a smile on his face and so much fun to be with! Loved seeing him in the parades! I unfortunately cannot make the services as am leaving on a trip Saturday morning but my best to you and your family!

I was so sorry to see this posting on the online news I still get from up north. Peter was a great fire fighter and father. We had a house fire years ago when I taught at My School and had Caitlin and then later all five of your children as students.
Peter was on the scene of the fire and took all our family photos off the walls. He and the men saved so many of our treasures, though the house was a total loss. I am forever grateful to him.

Sorry about Pete's passing. I remember when we were both members of Columbia hose co. in North Tarrytown FD. Pete was a Captain I was his 2nd Lt.
Pete was a good friend and a great individual.
