Peter Deanda

Peter DeAnda, 47, died Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at his residence. Born in New York, he resided in Franklin Township before moving to Branchburg 11 years ago. Peter served in the U.S. Air Force attaining the rank of Sergeant and attended Howard University. Mr. DeAnda worked, for the past two years, as a Regional Sales Director for MRV Communications, Inc. Peter was an avid traveler and enjoyed taking frequent trips to Atlantic City and touring the world with his wife. He enjoyed cooking and collected various art pieces, with his wife, during their travels. Peter was truly "King of the Barbecue" and loved nothing better than cooking for family and friends and sharing his always fully stocked bar. He was also very into all types of music and was a Knick fan, no matter what. Peter also treasured the time spent with his sons, especially weekly trips to see Charles (the barber) and the father-son lunches that always followed. Surviving are his beloved wife of 15 years, Tonya E. Rozier-DeAnda; his two cherished sons from his union with Sherrie DeAnda, Peter DeAnda III of Hartsdale, NY and Amir J. DeAnda of Virginia; his three beloved grandchildren, Jada, Nikir, Nikayla; his mother, Fatima DeAnda of Manhattan, NY and his father, Pedro DeAnda of California; his sister, Allison Bryan and husband, Christopher of Kissimmee, FL; his special uncle, Ramone DeAnda; his mother-in-law, Jacqueline Rozier, Atlanta, GA; his sisters-in-law, Beverly Word of Atlanta, GA and Melva Jones and husband, James of Mableton, GA; his brother-in-law, Jacques Taylor and wife, Brenda of Atlanta; GA, a God-daughter, Cytia Fontenette and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Peter also leaves to mourn, Paula Fontenette and family, Donna Kerr and family and Herbert Kerr and family. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, (March 7, 2009) at 6:00 PM at the Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 US Highway 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876 (908) 526-7638. Visitation hours will precede the Memorial Service from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
