Peter Thuc Van Duong passed away at 2:30 PM on Friday July 22, 2016 at Somerton Center, Philadelphia. He had enjoyed a full life of 90 years. He was a devoted and loving husband of 64 years to his wife, My Thi Hoang, and a dedicated and nurturing father to his six children: Hang Nu Duong, Jenny Tuyen Duong, Loan Hong Duong, Jimmy Hoang Duong, David Hoang Duong, and Kim Loan Duong. Mr. Duong also leaves behind an impressive legacy of ten grandchildren: Thuy Duong Bien, Cuong Tri Bien, David Phuong Vu, Jimmy Dung Vu, Anthony Anderson, Albert Anderson, Michelle Duong, Jonathan Duong, Peter Duong, and Teresa Duong; as well as five great grandchildren: Tony Bien, Maria Bien, Khoi Bien, Anthony Anderson, Jr., and Andrew Anderson. To his family, Peter Thuc Duong was the epitome of an attentive, thoughtful, and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. As a devout Catholic, it was within his nature to always put others before himself and he lived his entire life doing so. He was best known for his generosity when it came to time and money, and he freely shared these with whomever asked them of him. He helped many of his nephews and nieces, as well as his neighbors. He was very fond of traveling in cities around the country he dearly loved, Vietnam. He especially enjoyed spending time with all of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren--the latter of whom recall his loving and peaceful benevolence whenever he was with them. He was the best father, grandfather, and great grandfather that a family could ever have asked for. Words could never express how much he will be missed and how much he will always be lovingly remembered. Relatives and friends are invited to Mr. Duong's Life Celebration Visitation on the evening of Tuesday July 26, 2016 from 7PM-9PM, with the Requiem Mass following, at Holy Innocents Church, 1337 E. Hunting Park Avenue, Philadelphia, PA. And on the following morning Wednesday July 27, 2016 from 9AM-10AM, with the Funeral Mass following, at St. Helena Church, 6161 N. 5th Street, Philadelphia. Interment will then occur at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Philadelphia. Prayer services for the Soul of Peter Thuc Duong will be provided on the evenings of Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday July 27-29 from 7PM-9PM at 575 E. Cheltenham Avenue, Philadelphia.
