Peter L. Emanuelli, age 71 of Iowa City, died Thursday, September 5, 2024. Private family services with burial at St. Joseph will be held at a later date. Peter Lawrence Emanuelli was born September 22, 1952 in West Milford, NJ, the son of Frederick and Dorothy (Halton) Emanuelli. Peter moved to the Iowa City area and later married Jane A. Shaffer on July 12, 2008, here in Iowa City. He has worked as a chef in a number of restaurants and before retirement, worked as a factory worker in North Liberty. His family includes his wife, Jane; sister, Maryjean Lippincott (Mike); brother, Skip (Fred) Emanuelli (Donna); three nephews; Jane's family includes her brother, Steve Shaffer; sisters, Kathy Shaffer-Cumby (Kevin) and Connie Shaffer; nephew, Bob Shaffer. Peter was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law, Rodney Shaffer and sister-in-law, Nancy Shaffer.
