Peter Monroe "Pete" Gamble

Peter "Pete" Monroe Gamble, 74, beloved husband of the late Vicki Gamble, passed away on Monday, January 26, 2026.
Born in Raleigh, North Carolina, Pete was the son of the late Charles and Jeanne Monroe Gamble. He was a dependable, loving, intelligent, and hardworking man whose strength of character shaped everyone who knew him. Pete was stubborn yet tenderhearted, stern yet undeniably funny-a combination that made him both respected and deeply loved.
Pete enjoyed the simple pleasures of life: fishing, camping, grilling and cooking out, and working in the yard. He was a devoted Alabama football fan and rarely missed a chance to cheer on his team. He also loved traveling with his family, especially trips to the beach and the mountains.
Above all else, Pete loved his children and grandchildren more than anything in this world. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather whose love knew no bounds. Though his presence will be deeply missed, Pete's legacy of love, dedication, and family will live on through those who were blessed to know him.
He is survived by daughter, Rachel Settle; son, Christopher Gamble (Nicole); granddaughters, Sam Reynolds, Delilah Gamble, Savannah Gamble, and Amelia Gamble; great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Reynolds; and sister, Myra Gamble.
A visitation will be held Thursday, January 29, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Northwest. The graveside service will be held on Friday, January 30, 1:00 p.m. in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
