We celebrate the life of Peter Gange, born on February 22, 1934, in Bismarck, North Dakota. Pete lived an interesting and adventurous life. From being a paratrooper in the military and sport freefall skydiver with nearly 450 jumps, to being a pilot and flight instructor with over 8,000 hours, Pete‘s life was never dull.
Pete also served his country in the United States Army Airborne. He was in the 11th Airborne Division, the 101st Airborne Division and the 8th Infantry Division Airborne Brigade. During his time, he rose to the rank of Sergeant E5 before leaving the Army.
He was chosen to be part of an elite six man freefall parachute team created by the Army to perform at air shows.
After the Army, Pete worked for Boeing on the Minuteman and also on the Apollo space program.
Later he worked as a pilot and flight instructor where he met his wife, Norma. They were happily married for 51 years.
He managed an airport in Meridianville, Alabama for six years. He was also a FAA-certified specialist Senior Parachute Rigger.
Pete later retired with his wife, Norma, to Tishomingo, Mississippi where he enjoyed working in his yard. He loved the Lord and attended Maud Church of Christ.
Pete was a beloved man, survived by his nieces, nephews, and his cats, Pumpkin, Puddy, and Trixie.
Pete was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Norma Kathleen Gange; his parents John Jr. and Kathrena (Volk) Gange; infant brother Michael; brothers John, Dennis, and Lawrence Gange; and sisters Marie Gange and Theresa Bolkan.
