Peter Del Greco

Peter Del Greco, beloved husband of Mary (Caterino) Del Greco, passed away on Thursday, February 16th, 2023, surrounded by his family. Born in Cassino, Italy, he is the loving son of the late Giuseppe and Margherita Del Greco.
Peter grew up in Cassino, Italy and came to the United States in 1955 at the age of 15 on the SS Independence. He and his family settled in Stoneham, MA. Peter married the love of his life, Mary, and they raised their family in Reading, MA. He believed in the American Dream and used his tireless work ethic to fulfill it. A proud and dedicated worker, Peter was employed for over 50 years at several companies and retired as a supervisor for Anheuser Busch in Medford. Even after retirement, Peter continued to work, it was just his way.
When he wasn't working, Peter could be found gathering mushrooms growing in town, gardening, golfing, and collecting coins. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed vacationing with his grandchildren and family, particularly in Marco Island, Florida. Peter was a loving and doting grandfather and his greatest joy came from being with his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was truly "One of a Kind".
In addition to being the loving husband of 58 years to Mary, he is the devoted father of Joseph Del Greco and his wife Barbara of Loveland, Ohio, Peter John Del Greco and his wife Sally of North Yarmouth, Maine and the late Frank Del Greco and his wife Maria of Waterford, Connecticut. Cherished grandfather of Christina and Michael Del Greco, Marissa Del Greco, and Henry Del Greco. Loving brother of Domenic Del Greco and his wife Nancy. Beloved uncle to Robert, Thomas, Gregory, Matthew, Marie, Francis, and Rachelle.
Funeral from the Cota Funeral Home, 335 Park St., North Reading (Corner of Park St. and Rt. 28 at the Reading Line) on Friday, February 24th, 2023 at 9:30am, followed by a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at St. Athanasius Church, 300 Haverhill St., Reading at 10:30am. Interment to follow in Wood End Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, February 23rd, 2023 from 4 to 7pm.
