Peter Anthony Guzzi

Peter Anthony Guzzi, age 74, was called home to the Lord on March 31, 2009, after living with Parkinson's disease for 22 years. "Pete" was born in Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey, to Anthony and Amelia Mazza Guzzi. After graduating from Atlantic Highlands High School, he attended Monmouth College in Long Branch, NJ. He later served his country for two years in the U.S. Army. Pete married Emily Scaricamazza of Little Silver, NJ, in 1959. Pete was employed for six years by Naylor's Auto Parts in Atlantic Highlands. He continued his career as a manager for Big A Auto Parts in Houston and Napa Auto Parts in New Orleans. Pete realized a long-time dream in 1979 when he opened his own stores in Phoenix, C & G Auto Parts and Area Auto Supply. Pete was predeceased by his oldest son Peter, who passed away in February, 2009. Pete leaves a legacy of love and integrity to his surviving family: his wife Emily, his son Mark of Boulder, CO, his daughter Linda Guzzi Proverbs of Los Gatos, CA, and his son Brian of Phoenix. Pete is also survived by his brother Samuel and his sisters Theresa and Antoinette; and by granddaughters Marissa, Elizabeth, and Arianna. Pete will be greatly missed by family and friends who felt blessed by knowing him. A memorial service will be held Sunday, April 5 at 4:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Church, 15441 North 22nd Avenue, Phoenix, AZ, 85023. In lieu of flowers, the family would be honored to receive donations to the Parkinson Foundation (www.pdf.org) in Pete's name.
