Pete and I never did decide... did we meet in first grade or second? Gosh, I said it was in first. I've lots of stories about Pete. He broke my arm. He made little models of construction machines. His mom was one of my very favorite people. He taught me to operate a draw bridge. I drove his first truck when he started D&L. We had a terrible camping trip in constant rain. I remember when he first met Tara. He had a good life and I will never forget him.

My Uncle Peter was my hero and mentor.
He truly represented an authentic down to earth human being. Nothing pretentious about him. Funny and hilarious in his own right, he had a natural flair for putting people at ease.
In 1969, I was blessed to become part of Peter and Tara's home. Including his son David, and his daughter Linda.
They were my cousins, 8 years younger. I can never forget what that family did for me.
I was given the opportunity to be a part of a loving family and to graduate high school in 1971.
He will always remain close to my heart. He is with my Aunt Tara and out of pain.
He will be greatly missed.
His niece, Denise

Pete was a great friend. I knew him for about 40 years. We went to train meetings, train conventions, broke bread and enjoyed conversation. As a delegate to the United Railroad Historical Society. he often invited us to his home for picnic gatherings. He was indeed a friendly and generous man who will be missed.
