It is with the heaviest of hearts that the family and friends of Peter Andre Hudon, 63, announce his passing on September 12, 2024. Peter's personality and heart both were larger than life and will be a treasured memory for all who loved him. Peter was the son of the late Bernard A. Hudon and Pauline M. (Cormier) Hudon. Peter was born in New Bedford, MA. He moved to Middleboro when he was a young adult, where he called home until his passing. Peter was a proud member of Local 4, International Union of Operating Engineers, for which he served until his retirement in September 2023. He was affectionately known as Uncle Pete or Unckie, but his favorite name was Grampa Pete to his two grandsons Cole and Reid. Peter loved to cook and entertain family and friends, "Food is Love" proudly hangs in our kitchen, and we all loved his legendary Face Book videos. His love of those close to his heart had no end, and he was a moment's notice away from what someone might ask of him. Generous would be an understatement. Peter also loved great music, an occasional Bruins Game in Boston and he was quick with and enjoyed the art of banter. Most recently, Peter enjoyed visiting with friends in his long-awaited shop that he recently finished renovating, with his favorite tunes playing in the background. Peter is survived by his wife, Helena, who loves him beyond measure, stepson, David Blanchard and his wife, Meredith, and grandsons Cole and Reid, stepdaughter Jacquelyn Gadsby and her fiancée JP (James) Farley, brother Dennis and his wife Cheryl, nephew Mat Hudon and his wife Meghan, and grandnephews Connor and Parker, niece, Jill (Hudon) Gilbert and her husband Sean, and grandnephews Rory and Owen, nephews William McCombe Jr. and Nathan McCombe and his wife Kayla, and grandniece Peyton, sister Diane Hathaway and her husband Malcom and nephews Jonathan and Christopher, along with his immense group of friends that he loved as family. Peter is predeceased by his parents and sister, Susan A. McCombe. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, September 20, 2024, from 5-8 at Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 280 Bedford Street, Lakeville MA. A prayer for Peter and all of us will conclude the visitation. In lieu of flowers we would request a donation of choice to the Middleboro Animal Shelter or the American Heart Association. With Love, the Hudon Family.

I am very sorry to hear of Peter's passing. I have not been in touch with him for a long time. I met him for the first time when I was 13 and he became our landlord. I spent a lot of time with him and his friend Billy when I was 16-17. I thought of him as a big brother or maybe an uncle. He showed me how to run some heavy equipment and I was able to help him on some tree jobs he had. I also just enjoyed spending time just talking to him. Even though I haven't seen him for many years I have thought about him often. I am happy to see he was surrounded by a lot of love.
