I Have known Pete Kautsky for over a decade and was stunned and saddened to hear of his passing. He was clearly a man of many talents, whose humility made those gifts seem a revelation. I have fond memories of hanging out with him, and of our long and in-depth conversations, during a transitional period in my own life. He will be deeply missed.

I've known Pete Kautsky for many years as writer, as member of the Fallen City writers group, and as free spirit. His writing was forceful, detailed, and dramatic. I encourage his family to preserve his literary output, which may be bountiful, and demonstrates a courageous and driving voice that had something spirited to say about the human condition. Writer colleague Jim Villani at Pig Iron Press in Youngstown, Ohio: 330-788-6107.
