Peter James Kernosky, 62, of Wausau, WI, passed away at home due to ongoing health issues on Monday, December 8th, 2025.

Pete was born in Ironwood, Michigan on September 3rd, 1963 to James and Marilyn (Rock) Kernosky. He shared a birthday with his twin brother Paul, who passed away in 2017. Pete attended Wausau East High School and graduated in 1982. After high school, Pete graduated from North Central Technical College with an associate's degree in Tool and Die Making. After college, he worked at Northwest Tool and Die, Wausau Homes, and Roadready Transfer Service. He later started working at 3M as an Equipment Operator where he was a valued and dedicated worker for 26 years. He also enjoyed working behind the scenes at the Green Bay Packer games.

Pete enjoyed spending time with his brother Paul and their friends in Arizona for their yearly NASCAR and golfing trip. Pete grew up playing hockey through high school, and played for the Wausau Cyclones hockey team. He, along with his wife Mary Jane, instilled this love of hockey in their two daughters, Kaitlin and Marah. He loved attending his daughter's games as well as going to NHL games. He especially enjoyed watching his favorite team, the Arizona Coyotes, with his family.

He was known as the grill master extraordinaire at family get-togethers, with his brats and potatoes being the best. Pete was an avid watcher of the Packers, Brewers, and the Badgers. He loved spending time with his favorite pups: Radar Jack, Sage, Stamkos, and Teal.

Pete is survived by his wife Mary Jane, Wausau; daughters, Kaitlin Kernosky, New London; Marah Kernosky, New London; father, James Kernosky, Wausau and his sister, Ann (Ted) Schwieger, Cottage Grove, MN. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marilyn Kernosky, his mother-in-law Kathleen Landreville, his twin brother Paul Kernosky, and his aunts and uncles: Raymond Rock, Gordon Rock, Joe Kernosky, Joreen Young, Bob Young, and Ruth Kernosky.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. The family invites those who knew and loved him to share a favorite memory they have of Peter in the guestbook on this page.
