Peter Carroll Lansdale

Peter Carroll Lansdale, 83, of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2025.
Peter was born on November 7, 1941, in San Francisco, CA., and raised in Washington, D.C. He built a full and meaningful life defined by an unwavering devotion to the people he loved, integrity, and generosity. Over a 30-year career with a major telecommunications company, Peter served in a variety of leadership roles in Washington, D.C., and surrounding areas.
But Peter's proudest accomplishments were at home. He was a devoted husband to his late wife, Carolyn Lansdale, who passed in April 2023. Together they built a strong and enduring partnership. They shared more than five decades of marriage filled with family, friends, travel, and deep companionship. Peter was a loving father to their two children, Stephanie and James. Family was at the center of everything Peter did, and his joy only grew with the arrival of his grandchildren: Alexis, Taylor, and Reese. He treasured time with them, creating memories full of laughter, love, and life lessons.
With an early retirement, Peter fully embraced life in Ponte Vedra Beach filling his days with tennis, golf, reading, and enjoying the beach. He and Carolyn traveled extensively, exploring new countries and cultures together with enthusiasm and curiosity. At home, Peter was a familiar and welcoming face in the neighborhood- quick with a wave, a friendly conversation, or a helping hand. Peter also found purpose in giving back. He was a committed volunteer with several local organizations, including Beaches Habitat for Humanity, where he put both his time and his skills to meaningful use. Whether helping build a home or offering quiet support to friends in need, Peter gave generously and without expectation.
Peter is survived by his brother, Ted Lansdale, and sister-in-law Carrie of Garden City, NY; his daughter Stephanie Lansdale and granddaughter Alexis of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; his son James Lansdale, daughter-in-law Joyce, and grandchildren Taylor and Reese of Powell, OH. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carolyn, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and partnership.
Peter will be remembered for his kindness, his dry sense of humor, his love of travel and lifelong learning, and most of all, for the steady and generous way he showed up for his family and community. His absence will be deeply felt, and his memory will be carried forward with love and gratitude by all who knew him.
