Born in San Gabriel, CA, Peter is a son of Paul List and Judy Staab.
Many knew Peter for his professional drive and intelligence, but his true pride and joy was his family. Peter was an incredible son, husband, and father. He put others before himself, never hesitating to drive countless hours to spend time with his loved ones.
Peter was one of the most sought-after labor consultants and was held in high regard by everyone who knew and worked with him. Peter is deeply loved and widely missed.
Survivors include his wife, Leslie Paisley List; sons, Jack List (Mary Catherine), Sam List; daughter, Maddie List; mother, Judy Staab; stepfather, Douglas Staab; father, Paul List; stepmother, Candy List; brother, Richard List; and sister, Jennifer List.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Baskervill Food Pantry in Pawleys Island, SC, as Peter regularly contributed to their mission.
Per Peter's request, he will be interred privately at Pawleys Island Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

One of my favorite memories of Pete was the of the first times he brought Leslie to Arizona to visit and to meet us. Pete, Leslie, my then husband Donnie and Alex my son went out for pizza. Alex was very young and fussy. In order to get Alex to quit fussing Pete threw a mushroom from the pizza on Alex. Alex was shocked at this and froze in silence. Pete, Leslie, Donnie and myself laughed so hard.

Pete was such a dear friend. I loved him like a brother and Alex and I will miss him as long as we live. I thank God for our friendship all these years. He has been a wonderful friend. He will be missed.

We love you Leslie, Jack, Sam, Maddie, Judy & Doug. our hearts mourn for you loss.

Love,
Carol, Alex & Stacy Tait
