I remember when Peter got his first snare drum. We were both in the sixth grade at Bryker Wood Elementary. He was so passionate about drumming. He would play Wipe Out with his fingers on the edge of his desk. He was a natural on stage too. He and I and some other students performed a pop song on stage; Peter on his snare and me with the tambourine. He stole the show. Haven´t seen or heard of him since. I just googled his name and sadly came across his obituary. He remained true to himself and pursued his passion.

Peter and I shared a house together in 1980 while we were both studying with John Raush at LSU. He had a magic to him. I owned a vibes and a marimba that were identical to his, and I swear his instruments were more fun to play than mine - it was as if his instruments were blessed in some way. I lost track of him in '82 when I moved away. He was a great guy, a gifted musician, and a passionate artist. He loved people intensely. I loved his vibes playing - I never reached his level on that instrument. I'm sad to hear of his passing.

Peter's passion for music was well known, and he made every performance special in the West Lake HS Band.
