Peter C. Mulvaney

CANANDAIGUA - Peter C. Mulvaney, age 86, died peacefully at home on Sunday, October 26, 2025.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Louise; daughters, Molly (Eric Manzer), Lara (George Wilson), Barbara (the late Jesse Singleton) and Susan (Daniel Lawrence); grandchildren, Jesse Singleton (Taylor Gorycki), Jacob Singleton (Hailey), Sullivan Mulvaney and Katie Lawrence. He was predeceased by his father, John; mother, Mary; brother, Shaun; and sister, Sheila Cox.

Peter spent his career in education teaching social studies and retiring as Principal of Berkshire. Throughout his career, he followed the St. Ignatius's dictum to 'go forth and set the world aflame'. Peter's advocacy and encouragement in both his professional and personal life inspired people to seek greater opportunities for themselves. A great spinner of stories, he left an impression on all those fortunate to share his company.

Above all else, Peter was a family man, and his greatest pride was in the four daughters he and Louise raised to be strong, independent, caring women. He played a particularly important role in the lives of his two eldest grandsons, Jesse and Jacob.

Friends may call Thursday, November 6, from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Johnson-Kennedy Funeral Home, Inc., 47 N. Main St., Canandaigua. His memorial mass will be celebrated Friday, November 7, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 95 N. Main St., Canandaigua.
