MARQUETTE, MI - Peter Bernard Rabine, age 87, passed away on November 23, 2025, in Marquette, Michigan, surrounded by the love of his family. Peter was born on November 28, 1937, in Richmond, Michigan.
Pete deeply loved family time, never missed an opportunity to spend time with those he loved most, and was famous for cracking jokes and one-liners. He loved beating people at euchre, talked fondly about tractors, and enjoyed traveling and shooting sports. He especially loved motorcycles, with a soft spot for British bikes.
Pete was a lifetime member of the NRA and belonged to numerous sportsman's clubs. He was also a 32-year member of Alcoholics Anonymous, grateful for the fellowship and friendships that helped guide his life.
He was a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus in Sault Ste. Marie and an active member of the Harley Owners Group, serving as president of the Marquette chapter in the 1990s. Pete was also a longtime member of S.A.S.S. (Single Action Shooters Society) and took part in cowboy action shooting events across the country.
Pete was truly a jack of all trades. He received his training at Chrysler Corporation right out of high school. His skills and strong work ethic led him to a position as a roving substitute teacher at the Marquette Vocational Skill Center. He later worked for Northern Michigan University as a special projects coordinator, eventually managing the Trustee Vocational Training Program at the Marquette Branch Prison. He later returned to NMU, retiring as a grounds supervisor.
Pete will be sorely missed by all who knew him. His humor, loyalty, talent, and love of family leave a lasting legacy in the lives of those he touched.
He is survived by his incredible wife, Marlene; children, Daniel (Mary) Rabine, Diane (Dave) Aho, Denise Hughes, Darlene (Rob) Pinskey, Douglas (Karen) Rabine, Donna Conley, Joel (Jen) Rabine, Tanya (General) Brown, Cathy (David) Cutforth, Steve (Abra) Cutforth, Larry (Chris) Cutforth, Christopher (Sharon) Bosley, and Craig (Kristine) Bosley; along with many beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family members, and friends.
Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Valerya; his previous wife, Nancy; his sister, Helen; and his eldest son, David.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 1, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 am at St. Michael Catholic Church. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am with Rev. Jose Cherian officiating. Burial will take place in Park Cemetery
