Peter E "Pete" Sliman

The Sliman family suffered the significant loss of Peter E. Sliman, age 78, a 50-year resident of Colville, WA, passed away on June 15, 2025, at the Spokane Hospice House in Spokane, WA. Pete was born on March 2, 1947, in Wendell, ID the son of Faris and Elizabeth Jane (Fink) Sliman.
He was raised and attended school in the Glenns Ferry, ID. Pete grew up on the family farm where he learned early the value of a full day's work. He graduated in 1965 and began working with Bonneville Power. Pete travelled with Bonneville power to establish electric sub-stations for electric power distribution in Northeast Washington and Idaho. Pete then took his electrical knowledge into the lumber industry where he worked first for the Chopot Lumber Co. He then began working for Boise Cascade in the Plywood Plant as the electrical engineer supervisor in maintenance until he retired.
As a mister fix-it-all, Pete kept everything running at home and for others. He worked long hours and when he had time off, Pete enjoyed the outdoors hunting and panning for gold. He also loved to spending time with family, friends, and caring for the many dogs and cats calling his home their home. He was an avid reader and soaked in every bit of knowledge he read. He was kind, quiet and a good man who found solace in the time spent at home.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Andy Sliman.
Pete is survived by his wife of 50 years, Pennay Sliman of Colville, WA; brothers, John Sliman (Stacie) of Colorado, Paul Sliman of Florida; sister, Annjeanette Whorton (Bill) of Utah; two sons, Jeffery Sliman (Patty) of Idaho, Peter Sliman Jr. (Nancy) of Colville; three stepdaughters, Tina Chopot of Newport, WA, Michele Rogne (Doug) of Colville, WA, Ellen Lee (Roy) of Colville; 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.
