Peter David Wright, known affectionately to friends and family as Pete, passed away on July 9, 2025, at the age of 68. Born on January 7, 1957, in Baltimore, MD, Pete was a man of integrity, warmth, and unwavering dedication to his loved ones. He passed in the comfort of his home in Selbyville, DE, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Sylvia and Gordon Wright. He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his devoted wife, Barbara, with whom he shared a beautiful and enduring partnership. His spirit will continue to guide his children, Zach and Taylor, who were his pride and joy. Pete's playful and loving nature will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Tanner, Trystan, Tate, and Tilly.
Pete's sister Mickey (Mary) Jubb, and brother, Gordon, along with his brother and sister-in-law, John and Ros Witowski, will hold dear the countless memories of laughter and camaraderie they shared. His family was the cornerstone of his life, and his role as a husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle was one he embraced with enthusiasm and grace.
Professionally, Pete was respected and valued for his many years of service at the Port of Baltimore. His commitment to his work was matched only by his involvement in various associations.
Beyond his family, Pete had a passion for coin collecting. He also found joy in spending time at the gun range. On weekends, you would often see Pete at local flea markets or out for breakfast. Pete also enjoyed his many mornings at 7-eleven, getting his morning coffee and newspaper.
Pete's life was one of purpose, enjoyment, and impact. His absence leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, but his influence will continue to be felt. As we remember Pete, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of moments that will be treasured forever. His was a journey marked by love and laughter. Pete Wright's memory will be honored and cherished for generations to come.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Peter's life at the family owned Evans Life Celebration Home - 8800 Harford Road, Parkville, MD, 21234 for a Visitation on Wednesday, July 16th 2025, from 4-6pm.
