Phil Wayne Johnson Sr. 72 of Monticello passed away Wednesday at his home. He was born February 18, 1953 in Pine Bluff to the late, R.C. Johnson Sr. and Kathleen Bell Johnson.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Phil Johnson Jr.
Phil was a member of the First Baptist Church in Monticello where he loved God and teaching Sunday school when it was his turn. He was a member of the Gould Hunting Club on big island, He dearly loved hunting, especially turkey hunting, Phil has not missed killing a turkey for 48 years straight, killing 204 turkeys in his hunting career. He also enjoyed following baseball with his son, Scott. Phil was also a former board member at Delta Farmer's Coop and the Lincoln County Farm Bureau Board, and he was a veteran of the National Guard.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Jarrett Johnson of Monticello, a son, Jarrett Scott Johnson of Ft. Smith, one brother, Paul Johnson of Grady, a sister, Trish Partridge (Cody) of North Little Rock and numerous Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.
Visitation will be Saturday, May 10 2025 at the Griffin Funeral Chapel in Star City from 1:00 PM until the Funeral Service starts at 2:00 PM, with Bro. Dubs Byers officiating. Pallbearers will be Steve Jarrett, Vaughn Jarrett, Jackie Jarrett, Dean Jarrett, Darren Hartness, Andy Ashcraft, Mitchell Ashcraft and Brad Robertson.
Burial will be in Tillar Cemetery at Tillar, Arkansas. Arrangements by Griffin Funeral Service in Star City. Online guestbook www.griffinfuneralservice.net
