Philip Blyth Obituary

Published by O'Neil Funeral Home (London) Ltd. from Oct. 9 to Oct. 10, 2022.
It is with profound sadness that the family of Philip Blyth announces his passing on October 6th after a courageous battle with illness at Victoria hospital with his loving family by his side.

Phil was born and raised in Tillsonburg, Ontario, and held a long career with Livingston/TDS. He loved a good game of golf or tennis, enjoyed a great novel, and had a strong passion for classic cars. He loved to travel, and especially enjoyed his many winters in Florida . Most of all, he loved spending time with family. He was a true character with a wonderful sense of humour and no shortage of crazy stories to share with his friends and family.

Phil will be greatly missed by his devoted wife Regina ('Reg') of 56 years, his loving children Angela, Renata Dennis (Colin), Jason (Joanne), his grandchildren Raymond McMullen (Kristen), William Maibaum, Ethan Dennis, Aria Blyth, Regina Stockton (Clarke) and great-granddaughter Sloane Stockton, as well as many relatives and friends.

As per Phil's request, a private burial service will be conducted with his immediate family. In lieu of flowers, donations are graciously accepted to a charity of your choice. Online condolences & Guest Book at www.oneilfuneralhome.ca

It has been my incredible good fortune to call Phil my Father-in-law and I certainly could not have asked for better. From Day One he and Reggie welcomed me with warmth and treated me with the utmost respect. As straight a shooter that ever lived, you always knew where you stood with PhilI can honestly say he was the same guy last week that I met 28 years ago.
While Phil unquestionably had a terrific sense of humour, he took even more joy in making others laugh. He had a million entertaining stories and an unmatched delivery that kept you on the edge of your seat until the final zinger. Even better were the occasions that you could actually break him down, as his tear-filled belly laughs were beyond contagious. I always enjoyed his company so much and will dearly miss our conversations that came so easily, regardless of topic.
There are many ways to measure a man, it's been said. The attentive hospital staff in Phil's final days privately disclosed that they had not seen such love, faith and devotion from family under such circumstances. This is a testament to the man he was and the legacy he leaves behind; so deeply loved and gone far too soon.
God speed, Flipper - until our next chat.

Dear Reggie and family. Petra and I are very sad to hear of your beloved Phil's passing. I'm sure he's very comfortable now and he's probably already told a few jokes up in heaven. We sure had lots of fun together and always loved his sense of humor, his need for adventure and his carefree ways. Wished we had of spent more time together. Rest easy my ole buddy❤. Condolences, FRANK and Petra

As Reggie's friend, I know how she cherished Phil and their years together. I pray for a peaceful transition where fond and loving memories replace sorrow and sadness. Time is the ultimate healer when tears are replaced with a smile and joyous family times carry you through your dark moments. Friends and family are for support and love, your basket is full Reggie, let that basket be something you reach into when you need to. We are here for you.
Thinking of you, with affection...Jan Fulkerson
