I worked for Philip's brother, Wilson, for many years. He was so proud of his brother. My dad worked for Ford most of his life and admired Philip and his dedication to the company. RIP and when you see your brother, Wilson, tell him I said Hi.

Just a young girl when I started in 1976 and remember each time we met along with Joe Henley at the Las Vegas meetings and boy was it a different time in the world of work. Many blessing for all that you made better.

Our sympathy to the Caldwell family in Conn. and in South Charleston, Ohio. Phil was a genuine person; never fogetting his hometown. We remember his graciousness in coming back to South Charleston for the dedication of our community park in the 1980's.

He was an effective, quiet leader who you wanted to follow. His leadership and management came at a crucial time in Ford's history. I had the opportunity to sit with him and experience all of this personally.

My father retired from Ford many years ago and he would often speak about the old heads who knew how to run a business & look out for it's employees. He has now passed away but I'll always be faithful to Ford...thanks for all you did. God Bless you & your family.

Although I never knew Mr. Caldwell personally, I read about him in Lee Iacocca's autobiography. Although the feud between Mr. Iacocca and Henry Ford II was very unfortunate, I admired Mr. Caldwell for doing for Ford what Lee Iacocca did for Chrysler in the 1980's. I currently own a 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser, and my next car will probably be a 2014 or newer Ford Fiesta equipped with the 3-cylinder engine and manual gearbox. His family is in my prayers.
