Philip Glaser

Philip Glaser would welcome you if you met him. It is easy to remember his warm hellos and generosity with hugs. He was a mischievous son and youngest brother, a devoted and loving husband and father, a joyful grandpa and a full-hearted dog dad. He had a unique ability to understand and focus on the things that matter most and guided his family to do the same through his actions. He truly was a model of a great man who loved his family deeply. Philip Stuart Glaser of Bucks County, PA passed away on August 29, 2025 at 68 years old.

He was born in Queens, New York on March 13, 1957 to Dorothy and Myron Glaser. The youngest of three, he saw his mother attend college throughout his childhood. Philip, too, had a lifelong love of learning. He was a seemingly unlimited source of knowledge and advice and few things brought him greater joy than to teach and learn any chance that he got. In his professional life he learned to be a music therapist, a certified financial advisor, and an entrepreneur. In his musical life, he learned to express himself through nearly any instrument he touched, above all his piano, guitar and banjo. He studied tai chi for 25 years and Spanish for 15. His curiosity pushed him to pick up new challenges and push boundaries every day of his life.

He found great peace in nature, appreciating the beauty of the smallest petal of a flower and the widest mountain expanses. He loved to walk with his dogs and patiently created his beautiful garden with its gently curving paths and colorful flower beds over many years. He was always thinking about how he could create beauty in his surroundings – one of many ways he loved to quietly take care of his family.

He is survived by his wife and the love of his life, Helene Glaser, his children Rebecca and Jeremy Glaser, his daughter-in-law Syd Glaser, and his grandson Mateo Emiliano. His family will forever miss his wonderful advice, his extraordinary kindness, and laughing with him. Every day that we got to spend with him was a gift. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.

We are so grateful to remember his warmth, playfulness, and his ability to make anyone feel comfortable and welcome. A memorial for Philip will be held at the Newtown Friends Meeting on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 2 p.m. It is located at 219 Court Street, Newtown PA 18940 and overflow parking is available at the Newtown Stocking Works.
