Philip Himmelberger Obituary
1939~2024
Salt Lake City, UTPhil left us unexpectedly on November 7, 2024. He grew up in Monticello, Utah, the oldest of 4 siblings. Stationed in Zweibrücken, while serving in the US Air Force, Phil was lucky to have married a nice German girl who was way out of his league; they were married for 61 years. He had 5 children, one grandson, one great-grandson, and his two granddaughters who both made him smile in spite of himself. Phil retired as Bureau Chief with the Utah Department of Public Safety, Driver License Division. He put a lot of effort into any work that he did, and he enjoyed his classic cars and the friendships that came with them. He will be missed by those who were fortunate enough to enjoy his company.
Phil is survived by his wife Irene, children Gordon (Teresa), Matthew (Jayne) and Teri (Allen), granddaughters Tessa and Quinn, brother Keith. Preceded in death by his parents, brother Dwight, sister Nancy, daughters Cindy and Misha.
A memorial gathering will be held at the Chateau at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1910 East Dimple Dell Road in Sandy, Utah, on Monday, November 18, 2024, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm with Military Honors at 6:00pm. -
