Phil was an Important influence on the beginning of my career in landscaping. He was a mentor. I often told people I learned more from Phil and Kurt Keil than in any of my college courses in horticulture.. He taught me how a good boss can explain and critique and still give an employee enough freedom ,trust, to learn how to do a task on his own. All tasks were possible and any problem solvable if you took a moment to understand the mechanics of it. As A young man this was a valuable lesson to learn and to this day ,at 64 years old, I Often think back of the things he said to me and remember how he taught me to learn. Thank You Phil ! Phil was a good man, a fair boss. I haven't seen Phil in years, but I have good memories of him, and I learned a lot from him.
