Philip T. Kidder

Athol, MA - Philip T. Kidder, 69, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2025, with his beloved daughter by his side.

Born on December 30, 1955, Phil grew up in the Turners Falls area and attended Central Street School and Turners Falls High School. Over the years, he worked hard and made many lasting friendships through his positions at Railroad Salvage, Farren Care Center, Franklin Medical, and the Route 63 Country Store.

Phil lived life with joy, humor, and a heart full of kindness. He was the type of man who would help anyone, anytime, expecting nothing in return. Everyone who knew him loved him for his easy smile, good sense of humor, and his warm, happy spirit. A true creature of habit, he especially loved his daily Dunkin' Donuts coffee.

He enjoyed simple pleasures and cherished time with family. His hobbies included playing cards, poker games, darts, fishing, and bowling in local leagues. Some of his favorite moments were taking rides in the car searching for deer, taking his kids to see the Christmas Lights when they were younger and watching the New England Patriots. Phil also had a deep love for animals-especially his daughter's dog, Blue.

Phil leaves behind his daughter, Tricia Torrey, and her husband Jason Torrey of Greenfield; his son Michael Kidder of New Hampshire; his sister Susan Sibley and her husband Rick of Greenfield; and his brother Roland Kidder and his wife Deb of Maine. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren-Sabrina, Haley, Alexis, Taylor, and Joseph-as well as his three great-grandchildren, Kyla, Kayden, and Oliver, and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his dear best friend, David Wojnilowicz.

He is predeceased by his brother Richard Kidder and by many loved ones.
