I served with Phil on the Emory S. Land. We made a radiological controls training course video series together - the voice and the attitude he brought to that work was one of a kind. I will never forget.

I served with Phil on the USS John F. Kennedy. Phil was a true light in the World. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was a pleasure to talk with. Fair winds and following seas to you shipmate -

Phil, you were such an amazing man. Your big heart matched your smile. You always made us youngings think about what we were doing. I am saddened by your passing and I pray your family finds the strength during this difficult time. Rest in Peace shipmate. We have the watch. I will keep you in my prayers.
