Philip A. Lea Sr (Daddy Lea), 88, of Matoaca, passed away peacefully at his home on February 15, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Philip was born at home to the late Roy and Daurice Lea. He proudly served his country in the National Guard. Philip dedicated many years of his career working as a pressman and plant manager for Reynolds Metal, the Richmond Times-Dispatch, Mill Print, Gravure Packaging and Dominion Packaging. He was a lifelong member of the Goose Island Hunt Club and found great joy in the friendships and traditions shared there. Philip was known for his strong work ethic, devotion to his family, and quiet strength. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52 years, Shirley Allen Lea; his brother, Roy D. Lea; and his great-great-granddaughter, Sydney Hampton. He is survived by his loving family, including Pamela Holschuh (Brett), Philip Lea, Jr. (Karen), Brenda Sirry (Butch), and Amy Holschuh (Chris); eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild on the way, whom he was eagerly awaiting. He also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends who will cherish his memory. Philip’s legacy of love, dedication, and family will live on for generations to come.
