To the Mitchell family,
So sorry to hear of your loss. I have some very fond memories of your father, I can still see him coming down Bell Street with his tractor, being our bus driver and being a very kind especially when we acted up on the bus but we knew he meant business, lol! Someone mentioned Jimmy riding the unicycle, I remember that summer him and Ricky riding them around the neighborhood we were all amazed they could do that.! My sister Jean, if she saw you father drive by she would say that was my bus driver, like she was still riding the bus and the only one on his bus. He was Bell street´s Icon and so much more.
Fondly,
Joyce Belles-Solarz

Phil was my first school bus driver in Glastonbury when I was in first grade 1964 on bus 9. I remember Phil was a really nice guy. When I became a school bus driver myself in Glastonbury in 2004 the first bus I drove was bus 9. I instantly remembered Phil from when I was in first grade at Buttonball school 40 years earlier. Rest in peace Phil. And my thoughts and prayers go out to the Mitchell family.

What a special guy.. we moved to Bellridge Road in 1973... Jimmy as our paperboy riding on a unicycle, Faye was a delight, Juanita babysat our kids... Phil was always out taking care of the property. Phil was one of the most positive minded people I´d ever met... he took life as it came and made the most of it. We were blessed to know him ... may the family always keep their memories in their hearts.
