I recently learned of Dr. Morton's passing and wanted to express my deepest sympathy for the family. My thoughts & prayers are with Mrs. Morton & the whole family. I met him when I was in college, at IUPUI, many years ago now. I just wanted to let you know how caring, understanding, patient, kind, faith filled & how was able to explain certain tough concepts in ways I could understand. I will always remember him for his compassionate nature, his had such a great ability to help others in any way he could.
Sincerely,
Maria

Only last week I called Phil and Sally in Indianapolis. The phone was held so Phil could hear the conversation when Sally came to the telephone. Phil and I met when we were basketball players at the University of Toledo. I was a freshman, Phil was a senior and the team captain. We were a close match in size and sometimes guarded one another when coach Jerry Bush held team scrimmages. The late 90's we met again on two occasions when UT held "old timer" games for former Rocket players before the men's games. Phil was so personable, flashed a contagious sense of humor, loved his laugh and quick wit. Sally and Phil were a perfectly matched couple, tall, statuesque, great presence with shared values about life and family. Class guy, a tremendous role model for an l8 year old freshman all those years ago and I am so fortunate our paths crossed again. God bless, Phil, he was a totally unique individual and I will never forget him.

DEAR SALLY& FAMILY;
SO SORRY TO LEARN OF YOUR LOSS IN TODAYS TOLEDO BLADE. PHIL CERTAINLY LEFT THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE THAN HE FOUND IT. SO OFTEN WE SEE LONGEVITY BUT ABSENT A QUALITY OF LIFE...THAT CERTAINLY WASN'T THE CASE WITH PHIL. HOPEFULLY THOSE MEMORIES WILL SUSTAIN AND COMFORT YOU AT THIS DIFFICULT TIME.
