Philip E. Nelson

Philip E. Nelson, our beloved husband, father, uncle, grandfather and friend passed away peacefully in his home on July 23, 2025 at the age of 79. Phil was born on December 15, 1945 in Murray, Utah. He was the son of Stuart J Nelson & Lenora Dunster Nelson, and is survived by his wife Patricia Ann Whitney of 57 years, his daughter Stephanie (Kelly), his son Justin (Bricelyn) and two granddaughters.

Phil graduated from Granite High School in 1964 and lettered in golf. He served in the United States Army Reserves. Phil truly enjoyed his work, helping people and was a fine craftsman. He was an expert sharpshooter and an extraordinary golfer. Phil absolutely loved people - no one was a stranger. He was very outgoing and personable and loved to smile and laugh along with others. He adored his family and friends.  This world will not be the same without him.

Family and friends are invited to a gathering in celebration of his life, Thursday, August 7, 2025 from 6:30-8:30 pm at City View Mortuary, 1001 E 11th Ave, Salt Lake City, UT 84103.
