Philip "Phil" Aloysius Parker was the youngest of six children - affectionately known as "the Baby," a title he wore proudly his whole life. From an early age, Phil brought laughter, warmth, and a deep sense of togetherness to everyone around him. He was the kind of person who made you feel like family, whether you had known him for a lifetime or just met him.
Phil was the best friend anyone could ask for - loyal, kind, and always ready with a helping hand or a comforting word. He was an amazing son, brother, uncle, and godfather. His nieces and nephews adored "Uncle Phil," who celebrated every birthday, holiday, and milestone with love and creativity. He treated each of them as if they were his own, and every moment spent together was special.
In 2014, Phil married the love of his life, Ashley. They were truly best friends - partners in every sense - who shared laughter, adventures, and a deep love that was evident to all who knew them. Together, they created a home filled with warmth, hospitality, and joy.
Phil's home was known to many as "Club Parker". He loved hosting backyard parties all summer long - grilling, sharing his latest culinary creations, and ensuring every guest felt welcome. His garden and pool were his pride and joy, a peaceful retreat where family and friends gathered to relax, laugh, and, of course, enjoy a good glass of red wine.
Phil's passion for cooking was unmatched. He was always trying something new - a new recipe, a new spice, a new twist - and inviting everyone to taste and enjoy, never seeking praise but simply sharing what he loved.
A lifelong animal lover, Phil had many beloved cats throughout his life, each one spoiled and adored. He leaves behind his cherished cats, George and Dalia.
He was also a proud New York Jets fan and longtime season ticket holder. Sundays in the fall meant tailgating with friends, cheering on his team, and soaking in the excitement of the crowd. Win or lose – and unfortunately, it was often the latter - Phil's enthusiasm never wavered.
Holidays were especially meaningful for Phil - particularly Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Easter. He went all out for each one, decorating, cooking, and planning every detail to perfection. His generosity shone brightest during these times. He delighted in giving gifts, preparing special dishes, and continuing family traditions. Every year at Christmas, he made sure the kids received the new Hess truck - a tradition they all looked forward to originated by his father.
Professionally, Phil found his passion early. While attending Ridgewood High School, he discovered the printing trade and knew it was his calling. He went on to work in the printing industry throughout his life, eventually fulfilling his dream of owning his own printing business. Phil took great pride in his craftsmanship, treating every project - big or small - with care and precision. His dedication to quality even earned him a printing contract for NY Fashion Week. His clients and colleagues admired not only his skill but also his integrity and dedication to delivering nothing less than his best.
Recently, Phil attended his high school reunion, where he had a wonderful time reconnecting with old friends and classmates. His charm, humor, and warmth lit up the room - just as they always did.
Phil was the kind of person who was always just a phone call away. No matter what he was doing, if you needed him, he was there. His generosity, loyalty, and huge heart touched so many lives.
Philip Parker will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to know him - his family, his many friends, and everyone who ever sat at his table, shared a laugh in his backyard, or received one of his thoughtful calls. His legacy of love, kindness, and connection will live on in all of us.
Phil is survived by his loving wife, Ashley; his devoted mother, Patricia Parker; his cherished siblings, Paula (Larry), Janine (Dean), Christine, and Daniel (Emily); his brothers-in-law, Jon (Eileen) and Travis (Rachel); his beloved nieces and nephews – Nicholas (Lauren), Sarah (Jamie), Cooper, Matthew, Jonathan, Lily, Samantha, Teddy, Ellie, James and Quinn; his in-laws, Jonathan and Diane.
