Philip Reynolds Obituary

Philip Lee Reynolds Sr passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at his home in Starkville. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 17th, at 10 am, with a service held at 11 am at Meadowview Baptist Church, Starkville. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Memorial Garden Park in a private family ceremony.

Philip served in the US Army Reserve for 6 years and discharged as a Staff Sargent E6. He was a conservation officer with the MS Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks for 28 years. He was a highly respected conservation officer. Philip received conservation officer of the year award in 1978, where it was noted that he was a "true professional in the field of wildlife conservation" and he made a "measurable impact to the sportsmen of Mississippi".

Philip was a well-respected and valued member of Meadowview Baptist Church where he was a long-time member of the choir and served in many capacities. He was also a member of a Starkville dulcimer group for many years, which he greatly enjoyed.

Philip is survived by his wife of 50 years, Pat Reynolds, his son, Lee Reynolds, his daughter Julie Cook(Derek), his grandchildren Matthew Rives, Daniel Rives (Nira), Joseph MacGown(Madison) and Sarah Combs(Landon), and 3 great grandchildren, Kayden Combs, Phoenix Rives and Spencer Rives. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Estes Reynolds and Dessie Willard Reynolds, his sisters Barbara Thomas(J.D.) and Donna Stallings(Doug),and his daughter Lynn Rives and son in law, Ricky Rives.
