Philip Uhrich Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by N.H. Scott & Hanekamp Funeral Home on Oct. 15, 2024.
Philip J. Uhrich, 61, of Northbrook, passed away on October 10, 2024, after a valiant struggle against cancer. Phil grew up in Niles and Glenview. He was the cherished, loving fiancé, and best friend of Mary Celeste Bush; the loving brother of Dave (Sarah) Uhrich; and the beloved uncle of Sebastian, with another niece on the way. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Helen and Edmund. Phil also adored Mary's grown children, Shaun (Dave), Michael, and Scott, and her six grandchildren, Hannah, Olivia, Grace, Erin, Bennett, and Jackson. He was a very special individual-funny, caring, and kind-always helping others whenever he could.
Phil had various interests throughout his life. While still in high school, he started a company called Uhrich House & Home. He then went on to work for Thrush Development in Chicago as a Superintendent/Project Manager and later worked at several other construction companies, with his final position being at Liberty Associates Group, LLC.
Phil was a talented keyboardist and a voracious composer of pop tunes, playing with several bands throughout his career. He was also an insatiable chef, who loved making gourmet meals for Mary and his friends. He was artistic, with talents that included drawing, a flare for home decorating, and staging homes and condos for sale. Phil had a passion for flowers and gardening, and he considered himself an entrepreneur and an innovative thinker with extravagant taste. He will be greatly missed!
Visitation will be held Sunday, October 20, 2024 from 1 pm until time of the service at 2 pm at N.H. Scott & Hanekamp Funeral Home, 1240 Waukegan Road, Glenview, Illinois.
