Philip Webb Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by YANDA & SON FUNERAL HOME - YUKON on Mar. 1, 2025.
Phil was born on May 29, 1938, in Macclesfield, North Carolina, the only child of Claudis Garland Webb and Louisiana (Phillips) Webb. He grew up on their farm in Eastern North Carolina. He attended West Edgecomb School, graduating in 1956. He served a total of eight years in the United States Army National Guard and Reserves.
Phil began his career in retail with S.H. Kress & Co. in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. His years with Kress took him to several towns in North Carolina, Silver Spring, Maryland, Hillsboro, Texas, and finally to Shawnee, Oklahoma, in 1967. In Shawnee, he was hired by T.G.&Y. and spent the next decade managing stores in Shawnee, Oklahoma City, and Mustang. Phil left T.G.&Y. to spend the remainder of his career with Walmart and managed stores in Kingfisher, Lawton, Shawnee, and Yukon.
While working for T.G.&Y. in Shawnee, he met and married Sharon (Stark) Frye on December 13, 1971, and together they made a stable and loving home for their three children: Paige, Bill, and Jeff. The family moved to Yukon in 1972, and while his career required moves to Kingfisher and Lawton, they loved Yukon and returned permanently in 1981.
Phil passed away on February 27, 2025, in his home in Yukon after a brief battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claudis and Louisiana, and is survived by his wife, Sharon (Stark) Frye Webb, of the home; their children, Paige (Webb) Shoemake and her husband, Lindell, of Edmond; Bill Webb and his wife, Lisa, of Panama City Beach, Florida; Jeff Frye and his wife, Kristi, of Frisco, Texas; his eight grandchildren: Cory Shoemake, Lindsey Shoemake, Logan Bradley, Lauren (Shoemake) Fisser, Breanna (Webb) Crampton, Torri (Webb) Sobota, Alex Frye, and Abby Frye; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday, March 8th, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the Yanda & Son Funeral Home Chapel in Yukon, Oklahoma. The family would like to urge everyone to please schedule your colonoscopy and keep up with this life saving procedure.
