Philip Zengri Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd. - Washington on Dec. 25, 2025.
Philip R. Zengri, 83, of Washington, Illinois, formerly of Chicago, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, December 20, 2025.
He was born April 3, 1942 in Chicago to the late Angelo J. and Antoinette A. (Bono) Zengri. He married Patricia Ann Norra in Chicago on February 26, 1961. She preceded him in death on November 28, 1995. He is now reunited in eternal peace with his beloved wife, Patricia Zengri, and his three sons, Donald, David, and Kevin Zengri, who preceded him in death. This reunion brings comfort to those he leaves behind, knowing he is once again with the loved ones he missed so deeply.
He is survived by two daughters, Deanna Lopez and Mary Zengri; 12 grandchildren, Robin, Lela, Steven, Phillip, Scott Zengri, Patricia, Jessica, Norma, Rudi, John, Amanda, and Samantha Lopez; and 24 great-grandchildren.
Philip was an over the road truck driver for over 40 years before retiring. He was a member of the Teamsters and life member of the Moose Lodge. He loved woodworking, having made beautiful cabinetry over the years. His greatest joy was his family and friends. He will be dearly missed.
Private services will be held with burial at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery and Mausoleums in Evergreen Park, Illinois. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.
Philip will be remembered for his quiet strength, his unwavering love, and the steady presence he was to his family. Though his passing leaves an immeasurable void, his memory, values, and love will live on through the generations he helped shape.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Children.
