Phillip Ford Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hiett's LyBrand Funeral Home on Dec. 12, 2024.
Funeral services for Phillip Wayne Ford, 57, of Wills Point, Texas, are scheduled for 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Hiett's LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point, Texas. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Phillip passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, December 10, 2024.
Born on July 28, 1967, in Dallas, Texas, Phillip was the son of Billy Wayne Ford and Linda Ruth Bullard Ford. Growing up on Goose Lake Ranch in Wills Point, Phillip worked alongside his Papa learning the cattle business. He graduated from Wills Point High School in 1985. He went on to earn a degree in Criminal Justice from Stephen F. Austin State University and later obtained his teaching certification.
Phillip dedicated several years to education, teaching physical education at Langwith Elementary School in Terrell and later at Woods Intermediate School in Wills Point, where he worked alongside his mentor, Bob Rodgers. In the late 1990s, Phillip embarked on a new venture, founding F1 Construction as owner and operator. Later he added F1 Ranching to his journey. After returning home, in 2014, he obtained his lifelong dream of raising cattle under the name, JC Brand Cattle Company. These endeavors were a testament to his hard work and vision. Phillip gave his life to Christ at an early age and grew up in the First Baptist Church.
Phillip was preceded in death by his grandparents; Glenna and Charles Boaz Ford; Esta Faye and J.C. Bullard. He is survived by his loving parents, Linda and Bill Ford of Wills Point; his devoted sister, Melinda Thomason, and her husband Ray of Wills Point; and his cherished nieces, Allison Thomason of College Station, and Emily Thomason of Fort Worth.
