Phillip Arnold Newcomb

Phillip Arnold Newcomb passed away on July 3, 2023 and was born on November 8, 1940 in Farmville, Virginia. He was predeceased by his parents, Otis and Virginia Newcomb.
Left to cherish his memory are his brother, Douglas and wife, Deborah; two beloved aunts, Gracy and Frances; and numerous cousins. Phillip is also lovingly remembered by nephew, Michael and wife, Rita; and nephew, Mark; and great nephews, Brandon and Preston.
Growing up in South Boston he enjoyed being a member of the Boy Scouts. Later while living in Sandston, Virginia he became a member of the Glendale Ruritan Club.
He spent most of his working career employed by the Utilities Dept., City of Richmond and the ABC Board for the Commonwealth of Virginia.
The family wishes to express their appreciation and thanks to his caregiver, Sandy, for her devotion and care of Phillip and to the staff of Amedysis Hospice Care for their exemplary care.
Services will be held Friday, July 14, 2:00 PM at Halifax Memorial Gardens in South Boston.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The Boy Scouts of America.
