On October 16th, 2023, Phillip Van Robinson, 72, of Snellville, Georgia passed away peacefully with his beloved wife Cindy, son Kevin, and daughter Traci at his side, holding his hands.
Phil took his last breath on 10/16 at 10:16 am, we like to believe this is no coincidence but rather a message. According to Angel number 1016, the message is; "focus your mind on creating positive changes towards a more balanced life through manifesting". Phil believed in finding the positive in all aspects of life, and that whatever you put into the universe, the universe will give back to you.
Phil was the perfect example of hard work, dedication, and the American dream. He started his career in the restaurant industry as a busboy, rising through the ranks with Shoney's, and shortly thereafter, Red Lobster as a Management Trainee in 1974. Through his hard work, innovation, leadership, and dedication, Phil continued to receive more and more responsibility with Red Lobster, elevating himself to the role of Executive Vice President of Operations. He earned his retirement after a 30-year career, becoming the first person to retire from Red Lobster with full retirement.
Over every professional accolade, he was most proud of his success in his role as a provider for his family, giving them a loving, happy home. Along the way, Phil picked up a variety of well-earned and well-loved hobbies for himself. He loved to snow ski and golf, and he was an avid runner for most of his life. Between athletic exploits, he still found time to read all of Stephen King's novels. Phil was grateful for the opportunity to enjoy these hobbies in the
most beautiful parts of the world. Notably, Phil's best memories included skiing in Switzerland, golfing in Ireland and running the New York City Marathon. He was proud of his hard work, and he hoped his lifelong efforts and many successes would inspire others.
Phil retired earlier than anticipated due to his Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis, at which time he decided to focus on his health and family. As expected, Phil's response to this progressive disease was a determination to beat it, which he certainly did for many years. During his twilight years, Phil taught himself how to play the piano, attended birthdays and special events with his seven grandchildren, and spent as much time in the presence of his family and close friends as he could. Living with Multiple Sclerosis had its challenges, but just as he always had, Phil woke up every day, made his bed, watched the sunrise with a cup of coffee, and would remind us that "today is a great day." After 20 years alongside family and loved ones in blissful retirement, Phil passed away due to health complications related to Multiple Sclerosis.
Just as Phil lived his life until his last breath, we all will create positive change, maintain an optimistic attitude, and keep faith in ourselves and others. We will miss him dearly, but we will follow his example to make the very best of our life and the world around us, eternally grateful for every moment we're given.
Family Who Went Before:
Phil was predeceased by his mother Velma Ducra, stepfather George Ducra, father JT Robinson, and sister Phillis Shumate.
Family He Left Behind:
Phil is survived by wife Cindy Robinson, son Kevin Robinson and grandchildren Collin, Emily, and Ashlynn. Daughter Traci Morgan, her husband Greg Morgan and grandchildren Preston, Hailey, Allison, and Nathan. Also surviving Phil is his brother Richard Robinson, as well as numerous in laws, nieces, nephews, and close friends that he loved dearly.
To honor Phil's memory, we are holding a celebration of his life on October 29th at 3:00pm at the Peachtree Corners Baptist Church. We invite anyone who knew Phil to attend and remember his wonderful life. If you plan to attend, please rsvp Kevin at [email protected].

Phil had the uncanny ability to relate to people on all levels. He never met a stranger and you always felt he had known you for years. His charm, wit, curiosity and constant strive for excellence personifies his life. For those who knew Phil, we should feel blessed.

I worked with Phil a short time while I was in OPS Excellence and Phil was the EVP at RL. I remember someone walked by and asked if he liked something (I dont remember what it was) and Phil politely said he did. Later he mentioned to me he needs to be careful as the EVP saying he liked something meant he approved it for the company. We both had a good chuckle . I always remember how humble and inspirational a leader he was. Prayers for his family

What a great man. Smart, savvy and a great wit. I don't know how to describe him more than "he had a way with people." I had the pleasure to work for him for several years, shared some great times and a few cigars. He was fair and always took great care of his people. The world lost a great human being on 10-16.
