Phillip C. Stowell PHILLIPSTON- Phillip C. Stowell, 75, of 95 State Road, died on Saturday, August 14, 2010 at Leominster Hospital, Leominster, following an illness. Born in Athol on March 29, 1935, he was a son of Ralph M. and Christine (Sibley) Stowell and grew up in Athol. He was married to Cynthia M. (Smith) and had enjoyed their more then 40 years together. Following his schooling, Phillip had worked at the former J. F. MacElwen Shoe Co. in Athol and then went into construction and joined the Local #39 union and had worked on various construction projects throughout the area. Phillip enjoyed hunting and fishing and “fixing” unbroken things. Survivors include his beloved wife, Cynthia Stowell of Phillipston; son, Christopher Stowell and his wife, Melonee, of Minneola, FL; grandsons, Matthew Stowell of Gardner and Anthony Stowell of Minneola, FL; a sister, Jean Ohlson; and many nephews and nieces. Phillip was predeceased by his brothers, David, Roger, Doug, and Tom. Calling hours will be Tuesday evening, August 17, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. at Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange. There are no formal services. Interment will be in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon, on Wednesday morning, August 18, 2010 at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701 Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange, is directing the arrangements.
