Phul Kanta Khanna

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of the beloved Phul Kanta Khanna,

on February 23, 2026 at Fairfax Hospital, at the tender age of 84, while in the presence of her

loved ones.

Born in India, she is survived by her brother Om Seghal and sister Usha Kumra, her

children, Simi Babbar, Sonia Rana, and Rajeev (Ginny) Khanna, her 6 wonderful grandchildren,

Nabir (Kristen), Ambika (Raphael), Rohan, Mahima, Sabrina, and Karina, and her amazing three

great-grandchildren, Aria, Avi, and Dahlia. She was a proud graduate of the prestigious Lady

Irwin College, located in New Delhi, India. She was married to her husband Ramesh for 47

years until he passed away. She was a science teacher in India before she came to the United

States where she chose a career in banking because the banks would close at 3pm, this gave her

the opportunity to be home with her kids when they came home from school.

Phul was a devout Hindu, a tireless mother, and an amazing cook despite never using a

written recipe. Instead, she relied on her memory and the "look" of the dish! She was a social

butterfly, and with her quick wit, and endearing personality, she would make you smile within

the first minute of any conversation you ever had with her. In her later years, she relished doing

water aerobics with her friends and watching Indian dramas on Hulu! She will be dearly missed.
