Phyleta Ann "Ann" Van Deventer

Phyleta Ann Van Deventer, 85, of Lincoln, passed away January 28, 2026, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL.
Cremation rites have been accorded by Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home. A celebration of life and burial will be at a later date. Phyleta was born December 12, 1940, in Decatur, IL., the daughter of Harold "Red: Farthing and Louise (Shores).
"Ann" was an LPN and worked in geriatrics at several locations. She retired to help raise her beloved granddaughters. She was a member of 1st United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School, vacation bible school, and sang in the choir. She was also a member of the DAR. Ann was full of life and was an avid Illini basketball, Cubs, and Yankees fan.

Survivors include her children Doug (Christal) Van Deventer and Julie Buckles; grandchildren: Jori Gallagher (Tasha Jones), Jaci Buckles (Kayne Buck), Ian Van Deventer (Candra Higginbotham) and Atlee Van Deventer; great grandchildren Madilyn Brown, Brantley Smith, Reece Buck, Brinley Buck, Tiabeanie Van Deventer, Zachary Jones, Alexandria Edwards and great grand dog Retta. Her brother John Farthing also survives.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved Aunt Phyleta Plunk.
