Phyllis L. Birditt, 95, of Monmouth IL, passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at her home.
She was born on April 11, 1929 in Monmouth, IL, the daughter John and Hattie (Bailey) Pulley. Phyllis was raised and educated in Monmouth and attended Monmouth High School.
Phyllis married Charles T. Birditt on September 29, 1947 in Monmouth, IL; he preceded her in death on March 15, 2002.
Phyllis worked in the warehouse at Western Stoneware in Monmouth for 47 years until her retirement. She enjoyed puzzle books. Phyllis liked watching the Golden Girls, Wheel of Fortune, the Hallmark Channel, and Young & the Restless. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Charles T. Birditt Jr. of Coal Valley, IL, Steven R. (Amy) Birditt of Monmouth, IL, Jeffery D. (Vicki) Birditt of Monmouth, IL, Karen Birditt of Monmouth, IL and Jerome V. (Monica) Birditt of Bloomington, IL; eleven grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister, Martha Garrett of Monmouth, IL and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, husband; one son, Bradley Birditt; one daughter, Mary Susan Birditt; seven brothers, and one sister.
Funeral services will be at Noon, Saturday, November 2, 2024 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL. Visitation will be prior to the service from 11:00 am-Noon at the funeral home. Interment will be at Monmouth Cemetery, Monmouth, IL. Memorials may be given to the Phyllis Birditt Memorial Fund and can be sent to the funeral home.
