PHYLLIS MARIE BURBEE Phyllis Marie Burbee, age 93 of Union passed away March 12, 2024 at Echo Hills Assisted Living in LaVista. Phyllis was born September 24, 1930 in Plattsmouth, the daughter of Francis and Marie (McFarland) Leiner. She married Wilford James Burbee on March 7, 1958 in Union. James died February 22, 2011. Phyllis worked at Grain Dealers Mutual Insurance Company for many years prior to her retirement. She lived in the Union area her entire life and loved gardening and sewing. Phyllis and Jim were pillars of the First Baptist Church in Union where she was a lifelong member. She sang in the church choir and taught Sunday School and Bible School. Phyllis is survived by several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother Richard Leiner. Visitations will be from 4:00 to 6:00 PM Sunday at Marshall Funeral Chapel followed by a prayer service at 6:00 P.M. Graveside services will be 10:30 A.M. Monday, March 18, 2024 at East Union Cemetery near Union. Memorials are suggested to the Union Baptist Church. Online condolences may be expressed at www.marshallfuneral.com.
