Phyllis Conley

1926 - 2022

Conley, Phyllis 3/25/1926 - 10/12/2022 Passed away on 10/12/22 at the age of 96. Born to Zula and Walter Sauer on 3/25/1926 in Jackson Michigan. She was an only child but always longed for siblings. So when she married, the love of her life, husband David Stephen Conley they had six children. Linda (Russ) Luppo, Christine (Steven) Foster, Susan (Chuck) Zitsman, Stephen (Sharon) Conley, Sandra (Philip) DuPuis, Tobin (Susan) Conley. Phyllis and Dave were married for 64 years. Phyllis was preceded in death by Dave in 2010. They met prior to World War II while both were still in high school and as soon as he returned from duty in the Seabees, USN, they were married at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Church. They began their life in Jackson, Michigan raising all six children there. Moved to Traverse City in 1976 and then to Orlando Florida. Phyllis moved back to Jackson with the passing of her husband. Phyllis was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by 10 grandchildren ( Kristen, Erika, Kimberly, Andrew, Ellicia, Alexis, Meghan, Robin, Lisa, and Spencer. 9 great-grandchildren (Jackson, Kellan, Nolan, Casey, Ezra, Theodore, Emmett, Easton, Georgia) and a special friend of over 80 years Katie Woolsey. And one very spoiled cat, Missy May who was her constant companion for the last 11 years. Phyllis not only managed a household of six children, she worked at L.H.Fields in the accounting department and later for Jack Butterfield Investments. While in Traverse City, she still continued working as a bookkeeper. And in retirement in Florida, she loved part-time work for Hallmark cards as an outgoing, kind, and social lady. She will be sadly missed by all. At her request cremation has taken place and a memorial service is scheduled near future.
