Phyllis Cupp Obituary
Phyllis was a proud supporter of Veterans, especially the Wounded Warrior Project. She also showed her support for St. Jude and various animal shelters. Phyllis worked at Chester Mental Health, tending to the residents needs for many years. She enjoyed traveling when she was younger and visited many places. Phyllis loved being outdoors surrounded by nature. She liked to watch different animals flock around her feeders or sit on the porch watching the hummingbirds chase each other. Phyllis loved her family, especially her grandkids.
She is survived by two daughters – Pam (spouse, Glenn) Zabel of Marissa, IL and Kelly (spouse, Brad) Niana of Illiopolis, IL; nine grandchildren - Chelsea Gregory of Illiopolis, IL, Broden Gregory of Niantic, IL, Ethan Gregory of Niantic, IL, Audrey Miller of Marissa, IL, Bryson Miller of Marissa, IL, Annie Zabel of Marissa, IL, Aubree Vaughan, Ayleiyah Vaughan, and Lennox Puckett of Illiopolis, IL; three brothers - John (spouse, Pearl) Schwartzkopf of Marissa, IL, Sam Schwartzkopf of Marissa, IL, and Paul (spouse, Liz) Schwartzkopf of St. Cloud, FL; brother-in-law – Mike Martin of Marissa, IL; numerous nieces and nephews.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; husband – Ralph Cupp; one sister - Helen Martin; one brother - Larry Schwartzkopf; one grandson - Nathon Miller.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.

The Visitation will be held at Heil-Schuessler & Sinn Funeral Home in Sparta, IL on Saturday, April 4, 2026 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Paul Hahn officiating. Committal Services will take place at Mueller Hill Cemetery in Pinckneyville, IL.
