Loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother, Phyllis Stains Davis, passed away at the age of 103 in Camas, Washington. She lived a life full of love, purpose and dedication to her family, friends and community.
Phyllis was born on February 7, 1922. She was raised in Delta, the youngest child of Dr. J.E. Stains and Elizabeth Savage Stains. She had fond memories of growing up in Delta. She attended Southern Utah College and Utah State University where her studies abruptly ended with the start of World War II. Phyllis married Donald Dan Davis from Hinckley on September 8, 1942. They made their home in Delta and spent 52 years wonderful years together.
She was stay-at-home and loved making a difference in her community, volunteering in the museum and was participated many years as a member in the VFW Auxiliary. She had many talents including sewing and quilting, while engaging her circle of friends to help finish her many projects.
Phyllis was an exemplary mother figure, and she will be remembered for her strong spirit and feisty personality.
She is survived by her daughters: Helen Brunson (Steve), Sheryl Gray (Barry), Debra Farnsworth (Bruce). She is preceded in death by her husband: Dan; and son: Sid Davis.
Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, March 29, at 2:00 PM, at the Delta Utah Cemetery. A Viewing will be held, 12:30-1:40 PM, at the Nickle Mortuary, 190 South Center Street, before traveling to the cemetery.
