Phyllis Ann Doan

Phyllis Ann Wilder Doan was born on August 24, 1941 in Perry County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late Roy Wilder and Freda Balsinger Wilder. She was united in marriage to George Robert Doan who preceded her in death. She is survived by three children, Robert Doan and wife Gloria; Rita Powenski and husband Matt all of London, Kentucky; Glenn Doan and wife Penny of Williamsburg, Kentucky; eight grandchildren, Robert Doan (Jamilynn), Felicia Doan, Chasity White, Kenzie Bruner (Jacob), Chloe Powenski, Matthew Powenski, Glenn Doan (Brenna) and Ashley Barker (Matt); nine great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Radcliff, Nelson Radcliff, Audrey Doan, Piper Doan, Taylor White, Gage White, Waylon Doan, Grayson Doan and Eliza Barker plus a host of other family and friends to mourn her passing. Phyllis was also preceded in death by a son, Garry Doan; and four siblings, Edward Wilder, Earl Wilder, Etta Jefferies and Glenn Wilder.
Phyllis or "Phil", #1 Fan, Sunshine, Bestest, Momma, Mommy, Mom, Grandma, Mamaw, as some would call her, went on to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at 5:00 pm at the age of 82 years old. She was a member of Old Union Holiness Church for 47 years. To know Phyllis, you were blessed. She always had a smile on her face for everyone she met and even a hug. Her kind words and wisdom will be remembered by all who ever met her. She was a selfless person, putting others first and making sure they were okay before worrying about herself. She was a Godly person who loved the Lord with all her heart. She loved going to church, driving the church bus and doing the Food Angels. Serving others as Christ did was her goal in life.
Phyllis loved spending time with family and friends, sitting on the porch, sewing and talking, going to eat, shopping, sitting on the truck at a ballfield, driving around and getting a pop (a diet pop), to ballgames and track meets. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
The funeral service for Phyllis Ann Doan will be conducted at 1 pm Saturday at Old Union Holiness Church in London with Rev. Bobby Helton, Rev. Jack Harris, and Rev. Scott Carroll officiating. Burial will follow in A.R. Dyche Memorial Park.
The family of Phyllis Ann Doan will receive friends beginning at 5 pm Friday at Bowling Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Robert Doan, Glenn Doan, Matthew Powenski, Chris Mills, David Depew and James Jones II.
