Phyllis J. Dority

Mrs. Phyllis J. Dority, 84, of Murray, KY, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at Parkview Nursing and Rehab in Paducah, KY.

Phyllis was born on February 21, 1942 in Crittendon County, KY to the late William and Mary Francis Martin.

Phyllis graduated from airline school at Central Technical Institute in Kansas City, MO, in September of 1960 and later worked for over 20 years in the billing department at Crittenden County Hospital. She moved to Murray in 2001 after living away from KY since 1993. She served for many years as a Brownie director, impacting the lives of countless young girls with her guidance. She was known for her incredible talent in cake decorating, creating beautiful cakes for many occasions - including one for Governor Hubbard. Her greatest love in life was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Nothing lit up her face more than being with her grands. They were her pride and joy.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Allen Dority and her brother, William Martin, Jr.

Those left to cherish many wonderful memories include her daughter, Audra Napp (Buddy) of Murray; her son, Heath Watson (Julie) of Benton; grandchildren, Matthew Napp (Christen), Kayli Cendejas (Daniel), Austin Napp (Elizabeth), Ashley Wilson (Chris), George Samuel Powers (Morgan Wade), Kaylea Singleton (Cameron Torres) and great grandchildren, Brenon, Cheyenne, Paige, Kol, Gabriel, Crew, Emerson and Harrison.

The funeral service for Mrs. Dority is set for 11 AM on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at Imes Funeral Home, 311 North 4th Street, Murray. Matthew Napp will officiate and burial will follow at Hardin Baptist Church Cemetery.

Her family welcomes visitors from 4 PM – 6 PM on Monday, March 9, 2026 and from 9 AM – 11 AM on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at the funeral home.
