I am just finding out about the passing of Phyllis and I am deeply saddened. I think you get the opportunity to meet a truly amazing person once a lifetime and I was blessed to meet Phyllis when I was in Douglas County. She quickly took me under her wing and soon I think I was on almost every OMMRS sub committee.

Phyllis, our paths will cross again, but for now rest. we will make sure your great work will continue

Phyllis was a dedicated nurse, leader and mentor to many of us in the occupational health nursing field earlier in her career. She had an animated personality which we enjoyed at our monthly state and annual national organizational meetings. Included is a photo from one of our conferences in 1987.

Phyllis,
Really mentored me when I took on the role of Homeland Security Training Specialist for the tri-county UASI. She was an invaluable teacher and resource as I completed the required exercises for the group. I valued her expertise and friendship over the years.
With Deepest Sympathy, Dave Points

For those who are unaware, several positive efforts of emergency preparedness in our community that we continue to build upon today stem from the seeds planted by Phyllis Dutton. I admired her as a strong advocate for emergency preparedness and medical response. Her accomplishments were many and her committment was appreciated by the professionals that worked with her. Thank you Phyllis.

I met Phyliss in 1999 while active duty at Offutt AFB. She was so helpful as I was new to the medical response community. We worked several projects that remain impactful today. Phyliss was all knowing and a friend that my peers relieved upon heavily. She was never too busy to help and any career successes I've experienced are a direct result from Phyllis' mentorship. I am truly saddened.

Phyllis roped me into serving on several committees with her through OMMRS. She was a force to be reckoned with, and it was hard to say no to her. She approached the work with passion, commitment, and a sparkle in her eye. Her laugh was contagious. She made the world a better place.

Such a wonderful lady! I had the privilege of working with Phyllis on the Mass Fatality and Family Assistance committees through OMMRS. Her dedication to emergency preparedness was so much more than just a job, it truly was her passion. The entire OMMRS region will forever be grateful for the road she paved toward preparedness.
Thank you for giving so much to so many. Rest in peace, Phyllis.

I had the honor to work with Phyllis from the inception of OMMRS in 1999 to 2012. Her devotion in the effort to making Omaha and surrounding communities better prepared for emergencies is her legacy. I remember sharing a laugh with her when an atropine auto-injector discharged in my face and made my pupils dilate....for hours! Such a wonderful person who will be missed.

I worked with Phillis on the OMARS committee and was always impressed with her dedication and organizational skills in helping to maintain and improve our communities ability to respond to a mass casualty event. Our community was made a better place thanks to her efforts.
May the families personal memories of Phillis continue to bring a smile to each of you.
Thoughts and prayers with you at this time of your loss.
